Feeling the pressure.
This hand from the 2014 Lady Milne Trials proved to me that never giving up is so important. At the end of four hands we had probably lost around 20 IMP points to our opponents who had successfully bid four game contracts.

I was not feeling great, but I had a new fresh deal to bid and perhaps play. I wanted to make something happen, so after two passes I chose to open at the level I wanted to play at, without giving the opponents space to find the best contract. I opened a stronger than usual weak two in spades. West overcalled 3C and then doubled again asking her partner to bid or pass as appropriate. On this occasion, East got it wrong. Next time she will surely get it right, and find the excellent sacrifice bid of four hearts.

Just as a hungry crocodile puts pressure on his opponent - so too can you!

Happy Bridging
